Screaming Tribesmen
The festival is over the moon to have secured the cult followed sounds of this legendary act. So many times we've heard the rumours they're getting back together only to be disappointed. This is the first time since 1987 that this line up has played together and if you miss it we've no idea when it will be seen again, if at all... It's guitars, it's garage, it's punk, it's pop, it's hip, it's real. It is The Screaming Tribesmen.

William Barton
If we were to send an invite and ask the most well respected didge player in the country to make an appearance at The Gathering Festival, we’d be pretty happy to even know he opened the email let alone accept the gig. This incredible talent is carrying on thousands of year’s tradition in both his indigenous roots and contemporary fashions. The didgeridoo as we all know is probably the oldest instrument on the planet and William Barton is someone who plays it with all the passion, love and tradition that you would expect. He normally plays with the worlds leading orchestras and we are more than happy to be able to announce this grand man's services at our event.

Toothfaeries

Not many acts can claim they were ahead of their time. Anyone who has seen the rise of the roots generation would have been there for the hey days of The Faeries. They were the innovators of roots. Acoustic groove getting people to move. Such is the quality of their song writing, but there is more… When these boys start a set, it's dancing shoes on and away we go.

The Vaudeville Smash
Yaught Rock Steely Dan meets Toto and has a cup of coffee with Michael Jackson. Well lets just keep it simple and call it The Vaudeville Smash. They've recently toured the States and are about to take their disco funk tunes to places only Michael Jackson can see… Horns, 4 piece harmonies and more disco than a Bee Gee's film clip. OOOw!

Band of Frequencies
Whether it's writing surf movie soundtracks, playing at a festival or just pleasing the ears of the general public, this band delivers. Without doubt these guys are some of the most talented and professional players in this town. What a groovy act and we mean groovy!

The Rooftops
A horn section sounding like birds. A drummer locking in the unit and lovely vocals coupled with strong songs gives us The Rooftops. They've matured into one of Brisbane's finest festival acts playing their reggae and groove and have the gift of taking their set to another level when the energy is asking them to deliver.
The El Caminos
It's a Spanish guy wind surfing on a massive wave with graffiti all over his surf board while playing a guitar and winking at the girls on the beach. This act are one that delivers not only musicianship but absolute fun as well. Their quirky surfie like tunes and humour equal their chops and timing on the stage.

Glokenspiel
SCARY! Yes folks you heard me. SCARY! It's the first time this Brisbane band has played in 8 years so god help us when they get on stage. They are rocked out funk monsters out of their cage and we are more worried about what they are going to wear let alone what they'll be playing.

The Informants

Say What!! Is it true? Yes ladies and gents it is. We are pleased to announce the return of The Informants. They are going to give us a good old fashioned session of fun lovin groove and good times. Get down!
Toxic Garden Gnomes
To say a band rocks out is to say a band rocks out. The difference between every other band that rocks out is that this band rocks out. We are just hoping that they remember it's 2011 not 1987. If they go back to the day we are all in for a dose of Toxic Venomness (we can only hope!).

Lil' Fi & the Famous 4
Lil' Fi has enough charisma to ignite a morticians convention! Stomping and sliding her very original Australian award winning blues into the heart of The Gathering. Lil' Fi has wowed thousands of festivals with her feel good music over the years and this festival favourite will bring the famous 4 together. No, Timmy the dog won't be there, but there will be lashings of ginger beer.
The Jim Rockfords
You just gotta love an act that can deliver four on the floor and more. Guitar driven hooting' songs and a harp that would make Sonny Terry proud. This band is flat out from go to woe. If only every act in the land gave it up like these cats do. Get ready to rock!

Bertie Page Clinic
Rock meets burlesque. As a local Brisbane band the Clinic offer a high energy set musically but as the music progresses we can only wonder what surprises this five piece will have for us… It's cheeky and we love it.

Bon Fromage
Finally a band that delivers on the classics and means it. Lives it even. To have an act that can musically and vocally deliver songs from the 30's through to the 60's is just a pleasure and a real treat for all of us. We have our chair MEN of the board.
Transvaal Diamond Syndicate
The hardest working, boot scooting' little band in our town. Hats off to the lads for rocking the Blues and Roots, scoring number one on the ZZZ hottest 100 and being good blokes to boot. If you like your blues dirty, swampy and tough then you will like TDS.

John Malcolm

Acid Folks… Doh! We mean Acid 'FOLK'… Folks… John 'fingers' Malcolm is a freak. How can someone actually play guitar like this. He has been wooing the planet for 40 years and just gets better. A one man band that is glued to his guitar… A true local legend!
Bang Bang Boss Kelly
These young cats take it to the limit. We've all wondered who might be the next act in Brissy to really push through and challenge the airwaves to give them a go. Hard out country rock but lets not forget the pop song writing edge hey. Youth is power and BBBK well and truly give us that. Good luck lads.

Dave Flower Band

A local folk troubadour. David Flower is one of the few acts that still deliver 100% on lyrics. His words mean so much to his music and when they are right the music connects and the rest is poetry.
